Is it a Prophy, Root Planing, or Perio Maintenance?
Explaining Procedures and Fees to Patients

Carol Tekavec CDA RDH

Management of periodontal patients can be a neglected area in some practices. If an office is just beginning to identify and promote thorough identification of perio problems; the dentist, hygienist and staff may not know the best way to proceed when explaining this change in focus to patients. Even with new patients, it can be a challenge to discuss the differences among these services. Learn what the clinical differences must be, and develop language tools necessary to get patients to accept your recommendation.

  • When is a prophy appropriate?
  • What should be included in a periodontal maintenance procedure?
  • What documentation is needed with most benefit plans for perio treatment payment?
  • Can we alternate D1110 and D4910?
  • What code should we use for evaluations?

This seminar is designed for Dentists, Assistants, Hygienists, and Business Staff.
